Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight
9x12 inches, Original Oil on Panel

Day 13, 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge

I can't believe that I've been painting and posting for thirteen consecutive days.  As I paint these daily marsh scenes, sometimes boredom sets in.  I think of all the other things that are waiting to be painted.  Then I think of Kevin Macpherson, who painted 368 paintings of the same pond!  He says,

Commiting yourself to a project gets you off your creative bum, much like an exercise program.  Your project will help you get through times of artistic block.  It takes miles--miles of canvas to reach artistic goals.

So, thirty paintings is nothing!

  2. These colors are delightful. Thanks for sharing the MacPherson quote. Same pond 368 times? That sounds like torture.

  3. I love your paintings Linda, "Afternoon Delight" is just beautiful! Thanks for the comment on my "Pink flowers" post on my blog. I did not use anything to prime the illustration board, should I have used a gesso primer maybe?
