Pink Reflections

5x7, Original Oil on Linen Panel
The days are getting longer now and that makes me very happy. Today in Hilton Head, SC it felt like early summer, with temperatures in the 80's.  I have to remind myself that it's only February, and even in the South, we could still experience a cold snap.  This painting is a small study I did last evening as the sun was beginning to set. I looked out over the eastern sky and saw the most beautiful pink reflections. I had my easel set up and painted it quickly.

I apologize for the image, which is not the best quality.  I'll try to retake it tomorrow.

  1. gorgeous! What happened to our winter? We have daffodils blooming ...in February...and I'm further north than you. Love your marsh paintings.

We had that kind of weather today in Pinehurst. At least we know we are close to spring! Happy Painting.

  3. Linda, this painting is beautiful. I love sky, and color of the grasses. And, I like the idea of temperatures in the 80's, in PA the temperature was 55 yesterday.
